A great amount of work went into the configuration of Alexander Reed’s Bass Clarinet Classique Reed’s vamp profile, which was influenced by the designs of great clarinet reeds of the past (general hardness range of Vandoren). Made from the fine wild grown Var cane, each and every reed table is checked under light for flatness and hand adjusted if necessary. Designed to provide bass clarinetists with a wide palette of expression and classically grounded performance characteristics, they produce a warm, dynamically balanced and sonorously beautiful tone.
